About the R.I. PTA The PTA is a group of enthusiastic parents who enjoy the opportunity to provide a closer link between the school and the parents & caregivers. Our main focus is to "friend raise" with a number of events each year, including: - Family Picnic at the start of the school year
- Art Fair wine and cheese evening
- Mothers and daughters breakfast
- Fathers and sons breakfast
- Scholastic Book Fair
Our main fundraising activity in the year is chocolate selling in Term 2. Funds raised go towards extra facilities for the school that will benefit as many students as possible. In 2007, this included the purchase of the school's first C.O.W - "computers on wheels" bringing laptops right into the classroom in a mobile unit that acts as the wireless base. In 2008, PTA funding helped with the fit-out of the school hall. In 2009 the PTA help support our teaches by providing them all with R.I. sports jackets and tracksuits. The PTA also looks after the sale of 2nd hand uniforms. There is no 2nd hand uniform shop but sales are held on well publicised dates during the year. We encourage everyone to donate and drop off old uniform items at the school office. All proceeds go towards extra resources for the school. If you would like to contact the PTA, or to be on the PTA email list to receive copies of the PTA meeting minutes and notices, please leave a message with the School Office or email your details to admin@remint.school.nz. The PTA meets in the staff room at 7.30pm on set dates. All welcome. |
